A stop at Bigodi Wetland awaits you and thereafter transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, continue with your experienced safari guide to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Gorilla Trekking and after here, visit the mighty Volcanic Mountains that lie in the Southwestern district of Kisoro Uganda, head to Lake Buyonyi as you await the activities that take place there, Lake Mburo along the road back to the main city, Kampala and the Uganda Equator being your final destination making your experience a memorable one.

Detailed itinerary for 16 days Uganda Primate tracking Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer to booked accommodation

On arrival to Uganda, at Entebbe International Airport, you will have your experienced safari and travel guide to pick you up and be with you throughout the entire trip. You shall then transfer to your hotel where you will check in, refresh, have Breakfast/lunch/Dinner and relax.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park with your safari guide and make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a home of the only white Rhinos in Uganda for Rhino Trekking and then continue to the park as you meet animals like the Jackson’s Heart Beast, Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Waterbucks, Baboons, Monkeys and so many different species of birds along the way. After arrival to the park, have a top view of the strongest waterfalls in Uganda and worldwide, check in at your lodge for dinner and rest as you look forward to the next day.

Day 3: Morning game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls.

This adventurous day starts with an early morning game drive that takes about four to five hours where you will see many animals including Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopards, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Hyenas and so many different species of birds. After the game drive, take a break back at your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you shall have a boat cruise along the mighty River Nile which rewards you with an experience of many different animals that will be drinking water, some swimming at the banks of the river and also see many different species of birds.

Day 4: Transfer to Budongo Forest.

Pack your lunch and transfer to Budongo Forest for an early morning chimpanzee trekking with your safari guide where you will enjoy the beauty of the large mahogany trees which are more than 80 meters tall and some 20 meters in circumference. From here, get set for a more amazing chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest National Park whereby you will arrive in the evening, have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park Experience

A guided tour shall follow at Kibale Forest National Park where you will do an early morning Chimpanzee Habituation Experience before they wake up. Start the day with observing how these great apes wake up, trek with them and watch them do all their activities of the day. You shall leave when they start making their nests for the next night to sleep. Back at your lodge, you will have dinner and relax to the sound of these apes, other animals and birds in the forest.

Day 6: Guided walk in Bigodi wetland Sanctuary.

Early morning, walk to this fascinating swamp which is a habitat of so many different species of birds (over 200) not forgetting the Great Blue Turaco, Mammals, Insects and different Reptiles. Thereafter, you will go back to the lodge, have lunch and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park whereby u will arrive in the evening, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Experience your early morning game drive around the park where you will see different types of animals like Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Waterbucks, Buffaloes and so many different Bird species. Later on, head to your hotel for lunch and go for a boat cruise along Kazinga channel which boasts of the largest concentration of Hippos and Crocodiles worldwide.

Day 8: Tree Climbing lion experience in Ishasha sector.

Look forward to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you find the tree-climbing Lions. This great experience takes you to Lion’s resting on branches of large fig trees, elephants bathing in the water and many more interesting experiences. In the evening, enjoy a game drive then head back to your lodge for dinner and have a restful sleep.

Day 9: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is famously known as a habitat for world’s half of the Mountain Gorillas. You shall arrive in time for lunch and check into your lodge, refresh, have lunch and rest to prepare for the next day of Gorilla Trekking activity.

Day 10: Gorilla tracking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

In the morning, your safari guide picks you up for Gorilla Trekking briefing where you will meet the Rangers and head for the Gorilla Trekking activity which takes 2 to 9 hours depending on how far the Gorillas are on that particular day.

Day 11: Visit Volcanoes Mountain in Kisoro.

Start your day with an amazing journey to Kisoro where the Volcanic Mountains, commonly known as the Virunga Mountains namely, Mount Sabinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura are found. You shall arrive in time for lunch, relax at the lodge and later in the day, you will have a walk to visit the local market, have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 12: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

A walk into the Mgahinga Forest for Golden Monkey Trekking and Mountain Gorillas and after this activity, you head back to your hotel and have a relaxed afternoon, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Uganda as you await the experience of various activities around the Lake. You will arrive in time for lunch and have a relaxed afternoon, look forward to dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 14: Canoeing at Lake Bunyonyi.

Have a nature walk around the lake watching different birds and other activities taking place there. Nature walks around this area can be guided, with a safari guide or self-guided. In the afternoon you will go for Canoeing using the handmade local canoes.

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

Your final game drive of your Safari will be at Lake Mburo, which is the smallest of Uganda’s National Parks and near to the main City of Kampala. You will see the Zebras, Buffaloes, Giraffes and other different types of animals. You shall have lunch at your lodge and after you go for an afternoon Boat Cruise at the Lake where u will sail on its calm waters as you watch different Islands and the amazing stories behind them.

Day 16: Visit Uganda Equator.

Leave for the airport to take your flight back home and on your way, have a stop at the Uganda Equator where you will see the water experiment of Northern and Southern Hemisphere and take pictures at the equator monument. There are so many Ugandan craft shops where you can do shopping for all the crafts that you need as souvenirs to go back home with.
