Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off at 6:00am sharp from Kampala for a 389 km (6-hour drive) journey and head directly to the Kazinga Channel for a boat excursion, which begins at 2:00 pm. The elephants and buffaloes are very active due to hot weather they come down to drink water giving you close encounters. Kazinga channel stretches for 32 sq.km within the park and connects Lake Edward and Lake George.
The tropical channel is home to one of the highest concentrations of hippos. Your guide will look out for Nile crocodiles and water bird species that live around the channel such as African fish eagle. From the channel, enjoy a sunset game drive on the way to the lodge. The most common sightings of wildlife include elephants, buffaloes, hippos, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and warthogs. Check in for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Game drive and transfer to Kampala city
Get up that early at 5.30am after a quick coffee and set off for a sunrise game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park northern sector – the Kasenyi plains. You would be so lucky to spot the elusive leopards, hyenas, and lions. Your guide will push hard to find at least one predator before returning to the lodge for full breakfast after which you will depart and transfer back to Kampala city.
