Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

The best way to reach Murchison Falls on time for the afternoon boat cruise at 2 pm along the Nile is to set off from Kampala city at 6 am early in the morning. Your guide will ensure a safe drive, skipping some of the attractions en route to manage time. At 2 pm you will be at Paraa and board the double-decked boat and commence a 3-hour boat cruise from Paraa along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. This activity is considered one of the highlights of any trip to Murchison Falls National Park.

As you get the opportunity to get up close with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course the majestic herds of elephants and Cape buffaloes that make their way down to the river Nile for water. You will be accompanied by a local guide or ranger who will teach you about the flora and fauna of Murchison Falls. After returning, you will then do a game drive, staying on the main road en route to your lodge. Relax at the end of the day with a delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Game drive and transfer back to Kampala city

You will aim to embark on an early morning game drive followed by a walk to the top of the falls on your way back to Kampala city. Enjoy the game viewing in a 4×4 vehicle with an open rooftop allowing you to stand up and guarantee sightings of mammal species. From elephants, buffaloes, and Nubian giraffes to antelopes such as Uganda kobs, waterbucks, oribi, and Jackson’s hartebeests.
